We did it! Yesterday, we reached another milestone in the construction of the Fungus & Mungus HO Scale model railroad. The last of the mountains, hills, and valleys have been constructed and had their base coats of paint applied. We now switch from construction/building to the artistic part of layout building. So, here’s where we stand: The layout is 100% operational, but barren… devoid of the details that will bring it to life. It’s time for the annual tunnel inspection. We’re required to inspect the openings, portals, and bracing for all of the tunnels along the Fungus and Mungus Railroad right-of-way. Shown here is Grigio the Gray, Director of Quality Control, inspecting tunnel portal #5 at the south end of the FMRR mainline. According to Director Gray, everything is in order and in tip-top shape.
